Atlanta Hawks: Skip Bayless Starts Trae Young Hate After Play-In Loss
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

After missing a chunk of the season due to a broken finger, Trae Young came back just in time to help the Atlanta Hawks fight for a playoff spot. But due to a Play-In loss at the hands of the Chicago Bulls, that quest is now over, prompting Skip Bayless to rain down some hate on the All-Star point guard.

The Hawks secured the Eastern Conference’s 10th spot as the regular season came to an end. This pitted Atlanta against the Chicago Bulls in the Play-In Tournament, a showdown the latter came out on top of via a 131-116 victory.

In that game, Coby White exploded by posting 42 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. DeMar DeRozan pitched 22 points six rebounds, and nine assists, while Nikola Vucevic came up big for the Bulls by tallying 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Atlanta, on the other hand, had a big game from Dejounte Murray when he dropped 30 points on 50 percent shooting from deep, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Both Trae Young and Clint Capela made 22 points each, while Bogdan Bogdanovic added 21 points.

The loss has highlighted Young’s impact and importance to the Hawks, especially after another disappointing run with them this season. The Bulls, meanwhile, have momentum on their side when they play a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat team soon.

Skip Bayless Blasts Trae Young After Atlanta Hawks’ Play-In Loss

Atlanta’s elimination from the playoffs has sparked various reactions about Young and what his fate will be in the offseason. Among those who have voiced out their thoughts is Skip Bayless, as seen in a post he shared on X:

“As I’ve said many times on Undisputed, I’ve never understood the fascination with Trae Young,” Bayless tweeted.

Like Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James before him, Young has now been targeted by the Undisputed host. In James’ case, though, Bayless has consistently attacked the four-time NBA champion, even when his opinion don’t make a lot of sense at all.

The Hawks will have a tough offseason ahead of them as the decision to move on from Young will be their primary focus. In any case, a lot of eyes will be on Atlanta to see how the following months will go, Bayless included.
