Browns player 'won't accept' people dragging Cleveland: 'Respect the city'
Jeff Lange / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Cleveland Browns have had a lot of issues since returning in 1999, and of course, they have been one of the biggest jokes of the NFL, but all that has changed since the Browns went to the playoffs two of the last four seasons and should have one of the best teams in the NFL once again this season.

Cleveland Has Always Has Been Looked Down On

Almost everyone around the country has looked down on the city of Cleveland, and everyone has jokes about it. When Cleveland Cavaliers star player Lebron James, who grew up in Northeast Ohio, left the town in 2010 to head to Miami after seven seasons, everyone was making jokes about how not even a guy from there wanted to stay; jokes began way before that moment, and they are still going today, but one current Cleveland Browns player has had enough of the jokes.

David Njoku Has Had Enough Of The Hate

Current Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku stated, “Talking down on Cleveland is something I won’t accept no matter what, no matter what; that being said, respect the city, bro. It’s very simple.”

The Browns drafted Njoku in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has grown up during his time in Cleveland. Even though the star tight end isn’t originally from Cleveland, he has adopted the city as his own, and he’s done with the disrespect.

Micah Parsons Went After The Cleveland  Browns During Pro Bowl Weekend

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons went after Njoku and the Browns during Pro Bowl weekend in February when the two played Madden during an event. Parsons was making fun of the Brown’s early exit to the Houston Texans in the playoffs.

The Cowboys linebacker stated, “Cleveland is Cleveland’ Njoku has no choice but to go after him and say that you can take shots all you want, but we are both here right now at Pro Bowl weekend, implying that neither of them is playing for the Super Bowl.

It’s about time players started sticking up for the city after so long of people taking a shot at it. Njoku is turning into a Cleveland Browns fan favorite player, and all fans are very thankful for him.
